FOTD: Sweet Hearts

7 Nov

This FOTD was inspired by my friend, cosmetologist extraordinaire, Jasmine & the makeup artistry of her brother Gabe. After I finished this look I realized that it looks just like a box of Sweet Hearts. They’re pretty to look at, but not my favorite candy. I always pick & eat the white ones, then throw the rest away. I know that sounds really bougie, but the other colors taste like TUMS. LOL! Moving on… All the eyeshadows mentioned below are matte finish, from the Shany Cosmetics 120 palette, unless otherwise stated. Some of Shany’s pastels are a bit chalky, so I had to really pack them on, but I’m pleased with the overall look.

PRIMER: NYX HD e/s base

BASE: NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk

SHADOW: I covered the inner third of my eyelid (including the tearduct area) in pastel yellow. Then I applied light pink to the center of my lower lid & teal green to my outer v. To create the cut crease, I used my pencil brush to draw a thin line of dark purple e/s along the crease. Then I used my Sonia Kashuk large crease brush to fade the dark purple into fuchsia. Finally, I blended the fuchsia into peach along my brow bone ( from the Wet N Wild Greed palette). Click the picture below for a closer look at the shadows used:

OTHER DETAILS… I used CoverGirl single e/s in Smolder to define my eyebrows. Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black on my eyelashes. I defined my upper lashline with Ruby Kisses Never Smudge liquid eyeliner in Royal Purple & my waterline with Wet N Wild eyeliner pencil in turquoise. I set the eyeliner by applying teal green e/s on top (using my pencil brush).

FACE: Estee Lauder pressed powder in Deep (05)

CHEEKS: Wet N Wild blush in Heather Silk

LIPS: Carmex + L’Oreal H.I.P. lip gloss in Inviting
