Blown out

28 Sep

Last weekend the weather was relatively cool & dry, so I straightened my hair. HAPPY AUTUMN Y’ALL! 🙂

PRE POO – I scratched my scalp & applied Tea Tree Oil to each part. BTW, this manual agitation, makes for less strenuous hairwashing b/c it lifts debris from the surface of the scalp. After the tea tree oil, I applied Castor Oil (& what was left in my bottle of V05 Tea Therapy Conditioner) to the length of my hair. I pineappled my hair & did some housework.

SHAMPOO – After letting the prepoo marinate for a few hours, I washed my hair with Parnevu Tea Tree Shampoo (yes, it has sulfates – BAD SHAM!)… but I’ve heard the trick to getting your hair bone straight is to cleanse it really well. And I’ve had some dandruff issues lately, hence the Tea Tree overload, LOL!

DEEP CONDITION – I applied my hair crack section by section & detangled my hair using my beloved Tangle Teezer. Then I put a bag & a scarf over my hair & let that sit for a couple of hours. 20 minutes is plenty of time for a good DC, but I was home from work, so I lazily blog surfed & played on FB for several hours before rinsing it out, LOL!

** NOTE: As you can see, I have added some new products to the mix. I will be doing reviews of these products in the near future… STAY TUNED! **

BLOW DRY – I towel dried my hair, then let it air dry (to about 80% dry) before blow-drying. I applied a bit of Macadamia Straightneing Balm (by The Body Shop) & African Pride Leave-In conditioner to each section before blowing it out.

FLAT IRON – I applied Vitamin E Oil to soothe my scalp from the trauma of blow drying (I am extremely tender headed). Then I added Sally’s Generic Silk Remedy to the length of my hair & straightened it using my Hot Tools flat iron.

Do y’all ever experience “straightening guilt” after you blow your hair out? 😦 I LOVE my curls, but I needed a change & I’m pleased with the results. I just hope Giovanni can find it in his heart to forgive me, LOL!

[…] Then I realized that it was that friggin blow out! Apparently Giovanni was giving me hell for pulling & stretching him & exposing him to ridiculous amounts of high heat. […]
