FOTD: Featuring Forever Fig

11 May

Sorry you guys… *hangs head in shame* Apparently I’m stuck in a cut-crease rut! In my defense: I did at least switch up the color scheme a little bit. Forever Fig (by CoverGirl) is a satin-finish, purple eyeshadow w/ pink interference. Years ago I wore this color every week. Back then I wasn’t as bold (as I am today) with my color choices & it doesn’t scream purple on my complexion. I still love it, so I brought it back for old time’s sake. ENJOY!

Forever Fig

Swatches on top of white, purple & wine-colored bases

PRIMER: Coastal Scents Shadow Worx Matte e/s primer

BASE: NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk (lower lid) & purple (crease)

SHADOW: On my lower lid & brow bone I used matte camel (WetNWild Vanity palette). I used matte off white (also WNW Vanity) to highlight my tear ducts. I drew a line around my crease & outer v with the purple NYX pencil. I took a crease brush & blended the line, then I added Forever Fig by CoverGirl to my crease & the dark matte purple from L’Oreal HIP duo in Charisma to my outer v.

OTHER DETAILS… I used CoverGirl single e/s in Smolder to define my eyebrows. L’Oreal Collagen Mascara in Blackest Black on my eyelashes. I defined my upper lashline with WetnWild cream eyeliner in black (naked waterline).

LIPS: Carmex + L’Oreal HIP lip gloss in Inviting

CHEEKS: Ulta single e/s in Sparks (in the hollows of my cheeks)

FACE: Estee Lauder pressed powder in Deep (05)

[…] Sham I Am Glam is another fellow WordPress blogger and had two really beautiful looks featuring purple shades that I wanted to feature here. I love that she uses pretty much all affordable products for these looks, from Covergirl to NYX Cosmetics to Wet N’ Wild, and each look has a very classy feel. I must say that I prefer the first look, using Covergirl’s Forever Fig eye shadow in the crease. I also love her really gorgeous nude lip glosses in each look.  If you check out her blog, you’ll find that she also has a real flair for bright colored looks and really fun styles, as well as a lot of really interesting posts about hair, great celeb looks and trends, etc. I definitely recommend checking out her blog!
