My Hair Regimen

2 May

As with fingerprints, everyone has a distinct head of hair. Your routine will depend on the needs of your hair. In my opinion, trial & error is the best way to discover what products & methods work for you. This regimen just happens to be the one that works for me. My staple styles are the roller set & the roller wrap, so this is how I achieve that look. I wash, condition, detangle & towel dry my hair, I divide it into about 6 sections, add product & roll it up, back to front on 1″ diameter rollers.  Then I sit under a hooded dryer for an hour or two. Once it’s completley dry, I remove the rollers & seal my ends with coconut oil, wrap my hair, tie it down & go to sleep. My roots are usually VERRRRY POOFY, so I spray a little more oil in my hair & use a barrel curling iron or flat-iron to smooth it out. To maintain the style I wrap my hair nightly. My curls last all week. When they start to get frizzy or wonky (as I like to call it) I just re-roll them & sleep in the rollers for one night. That always brings them back to life… In fact, this is a picture of my “reconstituted” curls… probably day 5 or 6 of a roller set.
